LAND PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT SERVICES
After the completion of my undergraduate degree in Landscape Architecture from Virginia Tech, I spent the next five years working for Anderson & Associates in land development and planning on over 40 projects ranging from streetscape design and downtown revitalization to master planned mixed-use developments. Upon moving to Washington, DC, I worked with JCA Architects on National Harbor, Fairfax Corner, Virginia Commerce Bank, and other project sites throughout the metro region. Applying my previous on-the-job civil engineering experience and passion for sustainability, I was honored to work with Toole Design Group from 2008-2009 on revisions to AASHTO's bicycle facility design guidelines and several multimodal transportation projects in the capital region including the Bethesda Trolley Trail, The Glover Park Transportation Study, and the Oxon Run Park.
Functional areas include marketing and business development, project management, team management, feasibility studies, master planning, site planning, stakeholder/public involvement, entitlement, cost estimating, design and drafting, construction drawings and specifications, bid review, and contract administration.
VALUE-ADD DESIGN & CONSULTING SERVICES
I currently consult with a mid-size portfolio of residential and commercial property owners to enhance and add value to their assets by creating more usable and sustainable indoor and outdoor spaces. Notable projects include a branded landscape materials palette for three healthcare campuses in Maryland and a community park serving over 700 multi-family tower and town-home units in the District of Columbia. I've also worked on a variety of public and private projects including charter schools, public art siting, and single-family properties.
Functional areas include interior design, landscape design, graphic design, drafting, cost estimating, scheduling, stakeholder/public involvement, permitting, bid review, contract administration, vendor management, business development, CRM, and business administration.
DESIGN, SALES & CUSTOMER SERVICE
As a consultant with one of the East Coast's largest architectural finishes vendors, Architectural Ceramics Inc., I initiated and closed gross product sales of approximately $6M, consistently exceeding profit-margin targets and maintaining my status in the top 20% of all revenue generators annually. This required account development and on-going coordination with developers, design-build firms, architecture and landscape architecture firms, interior designers, and property owners to design finish layouts and specify materials for a revolving portfolio of ~60+ retail, high-end residential, and commercial construction projects.
Functional areas include client needs assessment, design, materials selection and specification, cost estimating, value-engineering, vendor management, procurement, business development, CRM/account management (Salesforce), project management, and customer service.
